"I am around 7000' and my bees would probably fit the bill. Still too early to tell about having enough splits to go around. I should have some if everything goes as expected, but it is agriculture and we are all one freeze away from destruction…"

Crap, sorry all for the blanket message sent! Question: Where do I buy bees?

Okay, newbie to this site, I posted this as a message to all members of the group.  My apologies.  What I really want to know is where do I buy bees when I live in southwestern NM, 60+ miles north of Silver City. (mule creek to be exact).  I don't relish trying to transport bees from ABQ.  That's a 5 hour drive one way for us. I saw that there is someone in Mayfield, but that's also a haul for me. The New Mexico Beekeepers Association is a non-profit organization of private beekeepers, commercial beekeepers, persons interested in promoting the importance of the honey bee in the environment, and businesses related to the honey industry. Representing all regions of New Mexico, the Association maintains a close affiliation with the State of New Mexico's Department of Agriculture. Membership in the Association is open to all interested persons.
