In 2007, unemployed, she began writing grants and working with coal companies to create Coal Country Beeworks. In 2013, she is now working the third book of the *bee trilogy*: Bees in America: How the Honey Bee Shaped a Nation (2005); Beeconomy (2012); and Apiforestation, The Future of Beekeeping (forthcoming).
